Hello All. I wanted to make my mint brownies again and I forgot what kind of mint to buy. Ya I'm to that age now..

What's best.. Peppermint extract or mint extract?
Thanks

I have no idea what your recipe calls for. Peppermint is the mint most often used with chocolate.

I just make my regular brownies and get a bunch of Andes thin mints, chop them up and add them to the batter.

I'd say Peppermint. I've checked a few on line recipes and that's what they say. Additionally, one indicates that regular mint extract can taste more like spearmint so go with peppermint.

I like this idea more than adding peppermint extract. And yes, I agree with everyone else that peppermint is the flavor you want.

Also, I knew a guy who had a cupcake bakery. He used peppermint oil IIRC. I believe King Arthur's Flour sells it.

Ok! Thanks guys!! And I will be adding Andes mints too in the frosting. Yum Yum!

I actually like using lemon oil and a wee bit of lemon extract in basic powdered sugar frosting for sugar cookies. The lemon makes them so yummy.
