Roast them with some garlic, olive oil, salt and pepper. Drizzle the olive oil on the veggies, sprinkle the spices/salt on them, and roast them in a 425 degree oven at about 25 minutes. Delicious.

I love both just steamed, but roasted is the way to go. I also love broccoli salad...blanched broc, chilled and tossed with a dressing of mayo, sour cream, minced onion/garlic, and s/p. Also, either one is good in a gratin.

Make a fruit smoothie with bananas and other fruits that you like and throw some broccoli and cauliflower in there. But you have to have a very strong blender (like a Vitamix) in order to liquify them and remove all the lumps.

In my opinion, that is the only way to make these items palatable.

Steam cauliflower pieces.

Then mix (immersion blender) with cream cheese, parmesan, and a touch of minced garlic.

Tastes like effin' fake mashed potatoes. Everyone raves when I make them:

For broc - I just loved it steamed with some cheese on it.

But this was also a great hit with my parents and wife:

OT, but really important...if you don't own an immersion blender, get one.

I literally use mine every single day.

25 bucks (cuisinart). You can get fancier ones that do other things (whisk, chop veggies, etc).

If broccoli tastes bitter to you, then it's due to a genetic difference that won't go away no matter how good the recipe.
