I just concocted this dressing to serve over wedge salad or use for dipping raw veggies. I love Ranch and like Bleu Cheese, but sometimes the Bleu Cheese tastes a bit too strong.

1/2 C. light mayonnaise
1/2 C. low fat buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. Hidden Valley Ranch Buttermilk Dressing mix
1/2 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 C. prepared bleu cheese dressing (I used Ken's Steakhouse)
1 T. red wine vinegar
fresh ground black pepper to taste

Mix all ingredients well and chill for at least 1 hour.

My aunt does something very similar except instead of prepared bleu cheese dressing she uses blue cheese crumbles instead.

Yeah, the possibilities for additions are endless. It might be really good with Italian dressing mix and some feta cheese crumbles.

I make enough to have on hand for a month or so at once.: it is similar to yours, but I use a conbination of mayo and sour cream, I do not use the Hidden Valley dressing and I use a little lemon juice instead of vinegar...It keeps forever..I buy the blue cheese wedges at Sam's. The only thing in the dressing that some might think would keep it from staying fresh is the buttermilk: sour buttermilk doesn't taste any different than fresh and won't hurt you.

Oh, I made some yesterday and remembered one more ingredient: I use a little olive oil as well.
