Hi guys! We love grilling chicken breasts and usually rub them with garlic salt, pepper and italian seasoning. My husband's gotten bored with italian seasoning and wands me to find a new spice. He doesn't like wet dressings, just spices that you can rub on. Any suggestions?

Penzey's has some really nice spice blends for grilling. Here's just one and then you can browse their site and/or order a catalog. I like their catalog - it includes recipes, little anecdotes and tips. Spices at Penzeys Spices 33rd & Galena Chicken and Pork Rub

ETA: you can also do a search of "rub" at Penzey's for a list with links to all their rubs.

I sometimes use a Jamaican jerk rub when I bake or grill chicken. It gives it a bit of a charred finish, but it has a nice, spicy and tangy taste. I typically use a wet rub, but you should be able to find a dry brand.

Our local (100+ yr old) company makes spices for just about everything. Wal-Marts and other stores throughout Texas carry Fiesta brand. Other CD friends have ordered spices from them on line.

What about squeezing some fresh lemon or lime juice on top? I make a ginger lime chicken:
1 fresh lime juiced and zested
2 cloves garlic chopped
1 tbsp honey
2 tsp fresh grated ginger or 1 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp sesame oil
2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce.

Mix all of the above togther, place chicken in a zip loc bag, pour marinade over. marinate at least 2 hours. You can grill, bake or broil these.
