After reading this thread last night I made bacon and tomato sandwiches, on white bread with mayo. Good stuff!

We used to grow fresh, beefsteak tomatoes. Grab one of those, right off the vine, with fresh whole wheat bread, bacon, lettuce...that is a delicious sammie! We ate those all summer, never got tired of them.

My Grandparents hardly ever had a meal without bacon or bacon fat...they were not fat, and lived past 95. My Grandfather lived to 101.

We just got some good looking tomatoes in FL yesterday, so BLTs are on the menu for today.

I believe that tomorrow I will go to the market and buy a couple of pounds of bacon and about 4 kaiser rolls and have a feast!
I like some ketchup on mine.

Had a nice BLT this a.m. with 5 slices thick bacon (had to use it up!) on sourdough with ripe red tomatoes - it was delish!

What does Mistermobile mean by this?

I am stuck between wanting crispy and/or rubbery bacon on my sandwich! Maybe both at once....

We like ours with thin straight crispy melt in your mouth bacon on whole wheat toast buttered with real butter. Then we put on a thin slice of tomato and sprinkle a bit of salt on the tomato and then put on a couple of thin slices of avocado and a few choice pieces of iceberg lettuce. A little fresh ground black pepper goes on then the other piece of toast.

Now I'm hungry for one!

Yes, and I like it with anchovies, pickles, and cottage cheese on it.
