Request Honey Barbecue Wing Recipe (chicken, Oklahoma, wings)

I've had a request for honey barbecue chicken wings.

I found a recipe for Oklahoma Honey Chicken Wings from Paul Prudhomme that was out of this world, but was not, apparently, what the diner was expecting to get as honey barbecue wings.

If this is some sort of standard fare, would someone share their recipe. Or at least tell me what they are so I can fake something up.
