3 boneless sirloin steaks sliced thin ( used the sirloin steak from Omaha steaks because I had that on hand) There were 4 small ones.
1 large onion sliced thin
2 cloves chopped garlic
2 Tsp. minced ginger fresh or dried
2 tbsp. olive oil
1/4 cup soy sauce
1 cup hot water
2 cups fresh steamed broccoli florets ( I used frozen)
1 Tbsp. lime juice.
2 tbsp. flour to coat beef.
Coat beef slices in flour set aside. heat a large skillet with one Tbsp. olive oil, add sliced onion and cook until tender. Remove from pan. Add remaining olive oil, garlic and ginger and sauté for 5 minutes. Add beef slices and cook until no longer pink. Add onions back into pan, add soy sauce, water and lime juice. Cook on low 10 minutes. Add broccoli and cook 5 minutes more. Serve over rice.
I make broccoli beef stir-fry in a hot wok, and I've found that the garlic burns and tastes bitter unless added with the beef.
