1 bag if frozen peas thawed ( used used petite peas 16 oz bag)
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1/2 cup sour cream
2/3 cup regular mayo
1/4 of an onion chopped ( I used Vidalia but use what you like)
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 Tbsp sugar
5 slices of bacon cooked until crisp then chopped (optional)

In a bowl add cold thawed peas, bacon and the cheese. Then in a separate bowl mix all of the other ingredients together (the dressing) pour over peas and mix well.

I forgot to buy bacon but it was still delicious. Never had until today and always wanted to try it.

I love pea salad, and your recipe is very similar to mine. I consider the bacon to be required, though, and I use green onions. Very refreshing side on a summer day, and goes well with grilled salmon.

I also make a very similar recipe, but add finely chopped raw broccoli and cauliflower. My family loves it.

Next time I make this I will surely have bacon in it.

I would also use green onions, and I prefer the cheese to small cubes of sharp cheddar.

I use finely diced ham instead of bacon and I prefer fresh shelled peas and red onion.

It's a nice easy summer salad that goes with just about anything.
