Anyone have a good recipe? Not the cookies but the bread. Saw this being made on DDD with Guy Fieri and I never wrote the recipe down and it's not on the food network site. My mom loves it.

This is a pretty good recipe, but I like it really gingery, so I usually add about 1/2 tablespoon of fresh grated ginger.

Here's another, slightly different, version - supposedly over 200 years old (couldn't verify, nobody around anymore )

Old Fashioned Gingerbread

1/2 cup sweet butter
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup molasses
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp ground cloves
1 Tsp ground ginger
1 Tsp baking soda
2 1/2 cups flour
2 eggs
1 1/2 cups buttermilk

1. In a bowl, cream butter and sugar together until well mixed
2. Blend in remaining ingredients
3. Grease 9"x13" baking pan
4. Heat pan in 350 degree oven until very hot
5. Remove pan from oven, pour in batter and return to oven
6. Bake for 40 min. at 350 degrees.

Guten Appetit!

Gingerbread was a dessert staple when I was growing up, yet I might have made it once or twice in my life. I think it should be revisited soon.
