1 lb dried beans- I like pintos
H2O to cover beans

1/2 lb bacon, diced
1/2 diced ham
1 t Tabasco
1 t salt
1/2 cup ketchup
2 cup chopped celery
2 cup chopped onion
2 carrots, chopped
3 whole cloves
1 T sugar
1 T chopped flat leaf parsley
1 t paprika

Soak beans, drain. Saute bacon, add veggies and ham, saute until lightly wilted. Return beans to pot, add enough H2O to cover. Add rest of ingredients and simmer until beans are soft. Serve with Grandmother Collard's cornbread!
