I got a brand new crock pot. In the box was also a mini-crock pot called a little dipper. It won't hold much more than a cup and it has a plastic lid that doesn't look very heat proof.

It came with three recipes, all for a melted cheese dip.

I can't think of any possible use I would have for this thing, so it might be headed towards the thrift store. Unless someone else has some brilliant and useful plan on how to use this thing.

Any help would be much appreciated.

I guess it would be good for parties to keep a dip warm. Or for lunch if it's just you and no objection to yummy smells.

Or for potpourri or other scented stuff.

I never saw one....but thought it might be a good way to melt and hold butter to brush on corn on the cob or for dipping steamed clams.....or I am making a hot crab dip for NYE......crab sour cream, cream cheese, spices......it might be a good way to heat and hold a hot crab dip or artichoke dip. I wouldn't be too hasty to get rid of it .... it might come in handy.

That's a good idea! Also Trader Joe's sells a very nice spinach artichoke dip in their frozen food section -- would fit perfectly in that little mini crockpot.

Using it for dips is great but my main use was melting Yankee tarts in it they never got that burnt wax smell. I could just add some essential oil scents if the tarts lost their scent too.
