on the create TV channel a lady made her own ketchup but it looked like a lot of work with a lot of ingredients. Seemed cheaper to just buy ketchup. But then if their is an easy recipe home made is always better it seems. I like the 4 ingredient recipes because they are so easy and then a person can mix their own stuff in whatever the recipe is about. But back to the question. If anyone has an easy recipe for ketchup I would like to see it. Just may try it once.

I've done a few, just tomato paste, vinegar, onion powder, sugar, and salt. It was good for an emergency ........ but let's face facts, Heinz Ketchup is the gold standard. Top Secret Recipes | Heinz Ketchup Copycat Recipe

I've made ketchup. Homemade is good, but so is the bottled stuff and the bottled stuff is a lot easier.

Anything canning that starts with fresh tomatoes is a lot of work. I've done it. It was a success. But I buy from the grocery store now. Ketchup is one of those flavors that you grow up with as a child and it is supposed to taste just so. I can make it taste just so, but so can the major food manufacturers and they sell it cheap.

I make ketchup during the process of making my BBQ sauces. However, I always have a LARGE bottle of Heinz for when I'm in a hurry.

It's not a lot of work; it's simply a lot of waiting while the concoction cooks down.

I make ketchup with my husband because we have our own business of selling burger, sandwich and BBQ sauces. Actually my husband taught me to make pure tomato ketchup and he know various kind of flavours of ketchup very well.
