I just found this recipe and want to bring it to our next family game night. Has anyone made these and had success in transporting them? I may or may not have access to their oven, it's up to what time I can get there, or if they're using their oven for other appetizers.

I was thinking of baking them before I leave and keep them in my crock pot and when I get there I can put them on warm.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

Why not call your host and ask if you will be able to use the oven for the amount of time you need after you arrive?

Default The recipe

It's a basic recipe you can google.
You use the mini slider rolls. Cut the whole piece in half horizontally, spread the dressing, layer deli meats and cheeses of your choice, pour dressing or butter tops with that and some poppy seeds, bake covered in foil for 350 degrees for about 20 minutes.

It's a really base recipe you can alter to suit your taste in what you use.

I did check with my host and she's not sure if I will be able to use the oven or not.

In any case I was just wanting to know if anyone has ever made this recipe and transported it?
I cannot always count on an oven at any party, which is why I posted this question.

To those who have made this sandwich, I would not have to explain the recipe, it's fairly popular and, quite frankly, I cannot believe I just discovered it! LOL!

Thanks for any tips or ideas

Bake it right before you leave.
Wrap it in a 2nd layer of foil, and then wrap with towels.

Deli meat doesn't sound like a slider to me. How about you make pulled pork, make or buy coleslaw ans buy hawaiian rolls. Guests can build your own pork sndwiches and hawaiian rolls are yummy hot or not.

The only pulled pork I like is the one my nephew makes, otherwise I never eat pulled pork. I don't like the Hawaiian Rolls and I don't like coleslaw on my sandwiches.
Anything on the small slider buns is a slider sandwich.
Sorry it doesn't sound like one to you.

I would lay a moist kitchen towel on the bottom of the crockpot and put a layer of foil over that. Then layer the sandwoches. That way the sandwiches won't dry out but won't get mushy wet either. And you can keep them warm that way on low or warm setting.

If you are doing different sandwiches, I would different breads to differentiate. A friend of mine used to work in a deli and I was shocked that some of their smaller sandwiches/sliders as you call them were actually a hotdog bun cut into 3 pieces. (so you get 3 sandwiches per bun) I have used it and got compliments on the yummy bread. lol (You can google the recipe for it, it's really good to bake up fresh)

Default Thanks! MomToThree!

I would have never thought about the paper towel thing. Wow! That is a great tip, thanks so much!
And I have used dog buns for other things before but never thought of making sliders out of em...wow! I can get dog buns at Aldi for under $1.00.
You're the best!
