I think it approximately doubles in volume, so a half pint should do.

FYI, I found out that Chessmen cookies are a kind of Pepperidge Farm cookie, not a separate brand. I couldn't find them, so I had to ask.

Good question- I probably use a pint....
If there's extra I use that for something else.

I don't make it too often since it's sooo tempting!
Just make sure you whip it til it's stiff-
Or the consistency won't work.

I'd make it with Trader Joe's Ultimate Vanilla Wafers and real whipped cream. I'd whip a pint, to be sure I had enough.

I saw them today but I bought double chocolate Milanos instead. Looked like a shortbread cookie.

Yes, someone suggested substituting Lorna Doons. which would be very good too.

As about the last person on the planet who made banana pudding the right way, I wish I had known about it sooner, because I have few occasions to make a big dessert.

I have made this recipe but put my own Italian twist on it and it comes out similar to my late grandmother's version of Italian Zuppa Inglese.

I add a layer of chocolate pudding as well as add chopped pineapple, maraschino cherries, and walnuts. These additions seems to cut the richness and adds another dimension of flavor that my family prefers.
