That recipe looks wonderful, and I've got all the ingredients here to make it, except for the salmon!
I like canned salmon and never mind "yuk" to the bones and skin. DH hates the bones, but I will literally pluck them out and crunch them up. And I'm a picky eater, too.
I always buy canned fish that's packed in water and not oil. DH likes some of those fancy schmancy types of canned tuna, such as tuna packed with herbed tomatoes or spicy jalapeno peppers, etc.
What do you serve with your salmon cakes? I'd probably serve up some cubed pan-fried potatoes with onion and parsley.
(I would never add dill to the salmon cake recipe. I don't like dill. )
I frequently serve Rachel Ray's Lemon Spaghetti with fish, and I make a sauce for any kind of fish that is mayonnaise, juice of half a lemon, and fresh or dried tarragon. I'd like potato salad or tomato/basil/fresh mozzarella salad with the salmon cakes too.
Quick thread hijack. My oldest loves salmon and I bought her some Alaskan canned salmon as alternative to tuna but it had tons of little circle bones (spine stuff?) I read they are edible but do you leave them in or remove them?
We tried another brand that is boneless but have yet to open them.

I munch on the bones as I clean the skin and bones from the salmon.
A can of sardines, some good(Crystal) hot sauce, soda crackers and a Coke. Perfect meal for a fishing trip.
now that is a lunch spoiled brat loves. he is a huge lover of sardines. I just can't get them down though I love fish. Most canned fish is ok with me: in fact I want anchovies in my Cesar salad and on my pizza.

I'm one that removes the bones.
Doesn't take long, you can try to get most of them out in one fell swoop. But you don't have to. It's a texture thing. Alternatively, you could crush them.
My grandma told me my grandfather would get so mad if she took out the bones. He loved them.

She likes the bones in the anchovies but didn't care for the circle salmon bones. Maybe it was the shape? Anyhow, the boneless canned salmon we found didn't have any bones so we will buy that brand.
Thanks all.
