I came across this article today and thought I'd share it. It includes an easy formula for concocting a bean dip. I may try this out for a Thanksgiving appetizer.

Make a Variety of Different, Delicious Bean Dips With This Easy Formula

Quote:
A 15-ounce Can of Beans: Black, white, butter, and garbanzo beans are all good options.

A Tablespoon of Something Creamy: Bon Appetit recommends tahini, nut butter, and Greek yogurt, but I’m a big fan of sour cream and labneh as well.

A Pinch of Something Flavorful: Try ginger, garlic, chilies, herbs, or toasted spices.

Some Acid: The juice and zest of half a lemon or lime should get you there, but you could also try a teaspoon or two of your favorite vinegar.

A Little Bit of Something Sweet: A drizzle of honey, agave, or maple syrup will help balance out all of your flavors, and you can always take the fruit route and toss in a date.

Some Herbs for Topping: Whatever fresh herbs you think would compliment your tasty creation, if you so desire.
