Crush some Doritos in the salad bowl
Top with some beef and refried beans
A bunch of Lettuce
Top with tomatoes, cheddar, onion, guacamole and olives.
I use sour cream and salsa on top as dressing.
DH uses some kind of salad dressing.
1 pound ground beef
1 package taco seasoning mix
1 can red kidney beans drained
1 can black olives drained
chopped romaine lettuce
1 cup shredded cheddar jack cheese
ranch dressing
crushed tortilla chips (plain flavor)
I brown the ground beef with the taco seasoning, then drain it. Add everything to a large salad bowl except the dressing and the chips. Then I add the chips and dressing and toss well. It's one of our favorite types of salads.
I like to the chips to stay crunchy that's why I add them right before serving. I used the tortilla strips once and liked the crushed tortilla chips better.
I have a set of those perfect tortilla pans. They're very easy to use, the clean up is a snap, and they really do come out crunchy.
Baked tortilla bowl
Chopped iceberg, red onion, tomatoes
Meat - ground beef seasoned with taco seasoning, leftover chili, or chicken seasoned with taco seasoning
Shredded cheese, depends on what's on hand - cheddar, colby jack
Sour cream
Salsa - favorite is mild salsa verde
Sounds like we all make it about the same: I like the kidney bean idea over the refried beans as well. We usually don't use any dressing, but top the salad with home made salsa. It is certainly not a mild salsa either. sometimes we use shredded chicken instead of ground beef. As for the chips, anything we have around the house we use, but I prefer Dorito chips.
Iceberg, romaine, taco beef, salsa, sour cream, and some tortilla chips crumbled in. Taco beef is already so salty, I can't imagine using Doritos as an ingredient. I had no idea that was a thing.
