I love spaghetti and all sorts of pasta dishes but unfortunately the tomato sauce gives me heartburn. I tried putting a potato in the sauce trick, it didn't work.

Any suggestions?

Does vodka sauce include tomatoes?

Pasta Carbonara! It's really good and easy to make. Add vegetables or anything you want to make it your own.

almost any pasta dish can be made with cream sauce or pesto instead of tomato sauce. Just add a little olive oil, lemon and cheese if you want to keep it simple. I just did this last night: cooked pasta, sauteed mushrooms, onions, garlic and some basil plus a little white wine, added it to the pasta and topped with cheese. It was awesome.

One of the best dishes I've had at a real Italian restaurant was a linguine dish, it was tossed in a simple cream sauce seasoned with salt and pepper. It was delectable.

As others mentioned, carbonara is a great pasta dish without tomato. It utilizes bacon and eggs for the sauce.

Alfredo sauce is a good go-to, great with some grilled chicken breast and a few broccoli florets.
