Absolutely! You either love or hate the taste but it is true down South sweets. No home made moon pies please!!!! It has to be the sticky stuff in the crinkly plastic.

Right on to both of the above.

Preferably after an afternoon of munching on some boiled peanuts.

Okay, this Southern moon pie thing must be like the New York Ring Ding or Yodel thing (made my Drake's Cakes) or the Philly tastykake thing.

I grew up on Ring Dings and Yodels, all of which were preferably placed in the freezer before eating. Now, I can't stand the damn things. Tasty Cakes? Ugh. I'm betting I'd feel the same way aobut moon pie.

I think I'd stick with my peach cobbler.

Are we talking about the gross moon pies covered in plastic like "chocolate" or are we talking about yummy whoopie pies.

I'm from Philly. Tastykakes have nothing to do with Yodels or Ring Dings. Those monstrosities are (were??) made by Hostess/Drake.

Not if you microwave it for four seconds. It turns into a warm, gooey, sweet, decadent delight.

^ My mama always put peanuts in her Pepsi! And she loved Moon Pies but loved Goo Goo Clusters even more. (Oh gosh...I love them too. Haven't had them in a long time...last time I saw them, I saw them at Dollar Tree, of all places!)

I live in North Carolina and don't remember anyone I know ever drinking RC Cola. Maybe we aren't far enough south.

Or maybe you're not old enough to remember RC (Royal Crown) Cola? If you're more than 40 or 50 years old and lived in either the South or the Midwest, you probably guzzled a lot of RC as a kid.

I live in Missouri and I remember chugging RC during the '60s and '70s. But it seemed to fade from the radar during the '80s. There are still a few convenience stores near me that keep RC on their fountain because they still have a devoted following. Nearly all of the nearby stores still keep on small stash of RC on their shelves to appease the RC addicts.

I'm 29. Maybe that's it. I see RD Cola in stores, but don't know anyone who drinks it.

Nope. I grew up in the South, and it was definitely Pepsi.

We preferred Double Cola or RC Cola here, in Dixie.
