I think there must be a trick to onion rings, and maybe all deep-fried foods. The one time I ever attempted onion rings myself, they came out totally bizarre. The batter on the outside was undercooked and mushy-white but the onions inside were burned black. End of experiment.

If you can pull that one off you should probably stay away from deep-frying.

Agreed

That scenario defies science and physics ... I would donate that deep fryer to the Goodwill or local church as it needs an Exorcism
