We made a smoked salmon cheesecake. It was surprisingly good, IMO. If you've ever had lox and a schmear on a bagel, you'll probably like this. Have you ever made a savory cheesecake?

No, but I love the idea to add to the holiday buffet table.

Somewhere I have a recipe for a Mexican appetizer cheese cake with green chilies, onions, diced tomatoes, and I can't remember what else. The crust was made with crushed tortilla chips. To be served with crackers.

It was delicious but made way too much for one family to eat.

Never had a savory Cheesecake before. I prefer the traditional NY Style kind.

sounds like a great appetizer or whatever. Might even be a good breakfast.

One of my loves is lox and bagels and another is cheese cake. There is a reason for each: traditional cheese cake and something like this, I think I will give it a try one of these days. I don't think I would use it as a dessert.

It's not supposed to be a dessert. It's an appy or an hors d'oeuvres party or part of a brunch table.

What Dogboa didn't write, was he took a big piece of it into work and told the ladies there was cheesecake in the fridge. They were NOT happy when they took big bites and it wasn't what they were expecting. LOL! Though they later admitted it was pretty good.

Yes, I realize that. My comment about dessert was meant to be taken in jest.
