I'm embarrassed to say that the only sardines I've actually liked have been King Oscars sardines packed in tomato sauce. I can't find them at the grocery store anymore. i don't like any of the other King Oscar sardines or other brands. They just seem too "fishy" and large to me.

I once watched a guy eat sardines in mustard sauce using pieces of angel food cake as bread.

Get a nice bread roll, spread Laughing Cow cheese on it, followed by a layer of smoked sardines. Kids liked it when we went camping.

Great on dark toast like Ezekiel bread with some sliced cucumbers and tomatoes on the side.

I think i almost threw up after angel cake and sardine combo... Kinda like having a pickle and cheesecake in the same bite.

I eat canned sardines all the time. I usually toast a piece of bread, spread cream cheese on it, then top it with a thick layer of canned sardines. Doesn't matter what kind: water, oil, mustard, tomato sauce, or hot sauce. It's basically a poor man's cream cheese and lox. I usually have it for breakfast on a Saturday or Sunday, or on any day if I'm between jobs.

Sometimes I even take it up a notch, and get canned herring, Old Riga brand. They're from the same family as sardines, so they taste similar. But they're hard to find, unless you're in an area with a large Eastern European population. The way I eat it is the same.

I like sardines usually have on crackers or put in a salad with cucumber and avocado.

They are high in omega-3 and a nice alternative to albacore.

Would be interested in any recipe's.

Thank you

Spaghetti with sardines is a pretty standard Italian dish, do a search and see if any of the hits you'll get interest you.
