It doesn't take much time at all to get the breading to brown and crisp but is it too long if done on leftover already cooked meat, like chicken?
Anybody already tried it?

I think what I'd do is one of two things to avoid burning the breading:

1. Cover it with foil, bake until warm, then uncover to re-crisp.
2. Let it come to room temp before baking (uncovered).

Are you heating leftover fried chicken? I reheat that in my convection toaster oven.

If you are breading an already cooked item, then just brown quickly in a skillet, and then eat.

Is this question actually asking how to reheat leftovers that have been breaded?

No. It's asking if breading and frying an already cooked piece of chicken would dry it out too much

I’m guessing that it would.

Please don’t “bread” your food, leftovers or not. It’s the equivalent of rolling it in dryer lint.

It will turn into breaded shoe leather. As inexpensive as chicken is - start with raw meat and fresh bread crumbs for an enjoyable meal. Left overs heat nicely in a pan, toaster oven or air fryer.

It will be fine. Use hot oil and take the meat out as soon as the breading gets brown and crisp. If I am cooking raw meat, I take it out of the oil as soon as it is browned but have to put it into the oven to finish cooking the meat without over-cooking the breading.

I've done Milanesa with leftover roasted turkey and it works just fine and it is a good way to use up some of the leftover turkey.

There are many who disagree!

I never tried breading leftover meat though.
