https://www.marthastewart.com/336020/strawberry-cake

I made this yesterday and it is so good. Also it is easy, and is not too enormous for a small family. Basically you make a butter cake batter, put into a pie pan or round cake pan, and then push fresh strawberries, cut side down, into the batter.

Easy peasy.

I made a couple of adjustments when I made this cake. I used less sugar than called for in the batter. I decreased it by 3-4 T. I might decrease it more next time I bake it. And I sprinkled raw sugar on top before baking, instead of white sugar.

I don’t know why I could not bake this cake with blueberries, instead of strawberries.

Let us know if you make it.

Baked strawberries are extra sweet, I like strawberry pie. The baking intensifies the flavor.

It would work with sliced peaches just as well. Really any fruit you might make a cobbler with would work I believe.

I’ve made it twice, once with strawberries and once with blueberries.

The first time I misread the recipe regarding the sugar. It calls for 1C for the cake, and that is perfect. I used 2T of natural sugar for sprinkling over the fruit and that is perfect too.
