Grannysroost idea of adding a can of cream of mushroom and one can of tomato soup- Fantastic! I have been making pot roast in the crock pot for years, and this may have been my best. It does not taste too tomatoey if you are worried about that. I mixed the to soups together before pouring it on top. It doesn't look to good, but don't worry. The soups will blend into a spaghetti sauce look when cooked for awhile. The slight tomato taste also compliments the potatoes and carrots I threw in. Though I love the traditional beef gravy style roast, this is a great change up, and not too different. Home run!

I take about a 3.5-4lb rump roast. Put it in a slow cooker with beef broth, cream of celery soup (i know-icky sounding) celery, onions, and carrots and then it slow cook for about 8 hrs. TASTY.

All of this pot roast talk is making me very hungry! I am definitely going to try the mushroom soup and Knorr onion soup recipe.

Default Pot Roast

I know, I know..pot roast is like meatloaf..everyone makes theirs different..My husband likes it once a week, which is fine with me, b/c that means for 2 days out of the week, I don't cook..today I made a little bit different and to me..It was the best I've ever made...so I wanted to share

2.5 lb sirloin roast
6-8 red potatoes
1 carton mushrooms
2 yellow bell peppers
1/2 cup red wine
1 ranch packet
1 italian dressing packet

set in crockpot fot 8 hrs on low..done when you get home from work!!

this was aweome! the yellow peppers make it amazing..I do love onions..but onions in my crockpot make food taste bad in my crockpot..so I don't use them..I highly recommend this pot roast..It was quite tasty!!!

Isn't there an Edit button down in the lower right part of the post, just to the left of the Quote button?
