I've gone Veg.... looks like dinner to me!... and if the Doughboy can help me with the crust I'm all good! Nomad that was a good suggestion! My favorite little red root veggie in a pie! How perfect!
I opened a can of beets and poured the juice off and filled with vinegar an cinnamon. Don't think they would have made a beet pie. I finally got the whole can down but they really messed up my insides.
Take an unbaked pie shell and heat the oven to 350 degrees. Stem 6 c of ripe mulberries off the tree in your backyard, and toss them in a tablespoon of flour with just a couple of tablespoons of honey squozen over the top in a spiral pattern. You can do a crumb topping but I usually leave it bare-naked -- come to think of it, a lattice top might look very nice too, but frankly I am too lazy.
Bake 45 minutes to an hour.
