...this is an easy recipe for yummy creamy macaroni dish. Good side dish or lunch.
Ingredients:1 small onion, sliced thin
1 potato, sliced thin
1/2 Cup Macaroni(uncooked)
3 TBSP Flour
400cc milk
100cc water
1/4tsp salt or more to taste
1/8tsp pepper(I use way more)
3-4 Tbsp butter
Optional 1tsp chicken bullion granules
Optional diced ham, corn, mushrooms, etc.
Direction:
Spread sliced onions on the bottom of large skillet. Lay potatoes on top of onions. Sprinkle flour on top. Add uncooked macaroni. Add milk and water, season with salt, pepper and chicken bouillon. At this point, you can also add additional items like ham, corn, mushrooms, etc. Add butter in small pieces. Stir the top layers to blend in seasoning. Turn on the stove and once it comes to a boil, turn the heat low and cover. Let it simmer until macaroni is soft and sauce has thickened, about 15-20 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent from sticking to the bottom. You can eat it at this point or you can stick it under broiler to give it nice brown crust on top with or without some cheese(Parmesan, cheddar, mozzarella or swiss)
I know. I love the fact that I only have to dirty one pan.
