Anyone have a good pickled fish recipe? I use to work for a guy in SD and we always gave him some of the fish we caught/speared and he would pickle it for us. It was great, but I never learned to do it myself.

Thanks for responding,
I'm looking for a kind of sweet style. The pickled fish I had as a kid was made buy this Norwegian guy I use to work for. So it might be something Scandinavian, but I guess I open to trying anything that is good. At this point, at least for me, it will be trial and error. Simpler the better, this year will be my first try at it.

It's funny you should post this today, I was just surfing recipezaar earlier and saw a recipe for pickled fish. I've never made this but it got good reviews:

Thanks a lot, it looks great.
I was looking though some posts and someone mentioned pickled fish and got me to thinking about it. I guess it was good timing.

I going to substitute with trout. I grew up eating perch and northern pike, but trout should work just fine, I would think....or what ever fish you have local. The northern and perch did have a different taste. Perch we would eat as snacks, northern had more of a tuna taste and we would use it as such. Good luck and thanks.
