with only three ingredients i suppose not but my BLT would be a BLTCP .. bacon/lettuce/tomato/cheese/and bread and butter pickle ...

There's always the mayo/butter/dry argument. I prefer to have the toast buttered.

agree that a slice of cheese is an improvement, unnecessary to be sure, but still an improvement

A restaurant in my city adds avocado - but I think that makes it a BLTA --- it is good. I also just like a straight BLT as well.

It's a different kind of meal, but the BLT salad is pretty darn tasty. My favorite is Alton Brown's TBL Panzanella.

I just had a turkey, avocado BLT at Panera last week and it was good.
I agree though, that a BLT with lightly toasted bread and mayo is hard to beat.

Love the BLT. I always do it with a bacon weave so you get bacon in every bite and the bacon doesn't get all curly! That's my improvement!

Sorry, can't! Cause I agree! The only improvement that I've ever made that made me appreciate them even more is to have my husband cook the bacon.
