At some point I came across a recipe for a brownie cookie bar. Basically the bottom is a brownie and the top is like a blondie. I've tried to find a recipe to no avail. I saw a kit at the grocerie store today, but I prefer to bake from scratch. Anybody have a good recipe or something similar. TIA.
I'm not sure if this is what you are looking for, but this is a recipe I've had for many years and still make it at least twice a year. It doesn't have a name, so I just call it bar cookies.
2 cups chocolate chips
14oz can sweetened condensed milk
2 TBSP butter
4 tsp coffee(cold is ok)
1 cup butter
2 1/4 cups packed Brown sugar
2 eggs
2 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped nuts (I use walnut or pecans)
1/2 cup flaked coconut
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 15x10" pan. (Jelly roll pan)In a small sauce pan over low heat, melt chocolate, condensed milk, 2TBSP butter ad coffee. Stir constantly until smooth, set aside. In medium sauce pan over low heat, melt 1 cup butter, remove from heat and stir in brown sugar and eggs, mix well. Blend flour, salt, vanilla, nuts and coconut into brown sugar mix. Spread half of brown sugar dough into prepared pan. Drizzle with chocolate mix. Drop remaining dough by the spoon randomly over chocolate. Swirl top two layers slightly with tip of knife. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown.

Was the kit you saw an Eagle Brand kit? Try their website. They've got tons of recipes with the condensed milk for bars.
