It's normally cut in half and used for sandwiches such as sausage and peppers. I'm looking for a recipe to make this. It looks like a big bagel, about 12" dia. Anybody know?

I have made the Italian Cheese bread ring. It's baked in a 10" tube pan. I'm not sure though if that's what your looking for.

Taurus, check out this site http://www.mooneyland.com/Italian%20Recipes%203.htm scroll down and see the Italian Wedding Ring Sandwich. Maybe that's what your looking for

Focaccia? That doesn't usually have a hole, but it is dimpled quite a bit.

The bread is probably close to our white bread, only round like a big pita. If you ever had an Italian sausage or hot dog sandwich, they cut it in half, make a pocket and fill it. I'm wondering if it's a local Italian American thing like the Italian hot dog created in Newark, NJ where I came from. They use to call it pizza bread. It's kinda soft and oh so good for sandwiches.

Something new to me and my grandfather was an Italian baker. Must be a local bread. Interesting. Glad you found it

And it's about 12" across? I hope it's not made the same way bagels are! Looks good, though.
