Everyone's suggestions are so great, I don't have anything to add. I just wanted to say that if your bf was sent lobster tails by his clients....where does he work and are they hiring?
This sounds like a perfect and easy recipe. The only thing is my tails are still frozen!! I put them in the fridge to defrost Monday night. I might have to do the water/bag trick if they don't thaw out by tomorrow morning
The claw is also a denser meat. To me the tail (providing it's cooked correctly) is tenderer. Also, as someone said, quite a bit more meat than the claw. I prefer the tail meat to the claw meat, it seems to have a more delicate flavor.
So I followed that recipe that was posted and they were awesome!! I was worried about not being cooked enough but I'm still alive and no 3rd eyeball just yet. I'm saving the other two for our anniversary next Tuesday.

Don't worry -- the third eyeball thing only happens if you eat undercooked prawns.
Cut a few smaller raw lobster tails into bite sized pieces and put into a greased oven proof pan,
lightly fry 2 minced garlic cloves in a few tbsp butter,
pour the garlic butter over the lobster,
sprinkle with a bit of sea salt,
grate cheddar cheese over top and broil them in the middle part of your oven until the cheese is bubbling and the meat is cooked through. How yummy!
That's how I did our lobster tails at New Years this year, only I added raw medium scallops and raw tiger shrimp to the lobster. I received raving reviews from the family!
