Crap.

What do you think of Bulldog's idea of toasting them beforehand?

I've got some frozen corn tortilla's in my freezer...

BTW.... Has anyone froze corn tortilla's ? I have froze flour tortilla's & they were fine when thawed to use.
Just curious...
I freeze them all the time, they're just fine once they thaw out.

It'll help, but they'll still get mushy. Try to keep the liquid to a minimum.

This and let them dry out on the counter after removing from the oven.

If your cooking tonight I'd get them in the oven asap so they have a few hours.

I guess I'm going to have to check out this recipe. I'm curious now after reading about it all morning! It's in the Recipe thread I presume?
I have a recipe for Mexican Lasagna that calls for corn tortillas. i always wondered what would happen if I used flour ones instead. other than mr.cool getting sick I mean.

"King Ranch Casserole"

Flour tortillas shouldn't make mushy but corn tortillas add important flavor..

P.S. by all means we add olives etc. on occasion ...

That's the thread Bulldog ...Thanks!

It's a lot of ingredients to waste if it'll lack flavor (even if it won't be mushy).

I asked my husband, if he'll be coming home at a reasonable time, to stop in at another grocery store. Otherwise, I'll give it a shot, the Bulldog way of toasting.

Satx, we REALLY love this recipe. Thanks again (and again and again) for posting it way back when...
