I'm pretty open. Being mysterious is too much work!

Being mysterious is mostly unintentional (therefore, no work) but I think being an open book is more work because one thing always leads to more questions.

See, I'm naturally open, so to hold back for me takes more effort.

I am open about the things I choose to disclose about myself but I would never call myself an open book. Once I trust someone enough I slowly share more, but in my opinion being too open leaves you vulnerable.

Open book - those who are closed, usually have something to "hide". On the other hand, those who are open like myself can be vulnerable to those who are malicious.

Even with 'usually', it's a blanket statement. There are many reasons a person might not choose to divulge their life story and it doesn't mean they're hiding something.

Ditto. There are some things in my life that can be public knowledge, and some things are nobody's business. If I'm asked questions I'll answer them, but I rarely volunteer information, especially to strangers.
