Yea that's pretty bad since she's 18-19 and he's in his late 30s. If the dude graduated high school before the other one was even born, that's pretty rugged. I'm 25 and a few of my friends have even said it would be wrong for someone my age to date a chick who was 18-19. I don't agree, but apparently some people think that's weird.
It would be different if she was like 25 and he was 40-45. But the fact that she's just above the legal age is shady.
She was born in the 90's and he was born in the early 70's.
What exactly are the ages? You specify early 1970's for him but you don't narrow it down for her - she could be under the age of consent and that is dangerous. I mean, technically she could be 11 and he could be 40. On the other hand, he could be 37ish and she could be 20. Or anywhere in between. I think you need to narrow her age down a bit more. Are you the "she"? Or is it someone you know? Or is it completely hypothetical?
If she is an adult, I can't say what is "too much" of a gap for other people. I can say that I think when someone is a whole generation older or younger (ie, they are old enough to be your parent or vice versa), that it's unlikely to be a successful, healthy, long term relationship - but that doesn't mean it never happens. My "rule" for myself was no one old enough to be my dad, even technically rather than more realistically so around 12-13 years older was my absolute cut off but I tended to round down to 10. My husband is 7 years older than me.
This girl who's 17 is dating a 44 year old guy. She mentioned how he bought her things like a CAR. Man, I'm surprised... I don't think age makes much of a difference but that's a huge gap. I don't know.. Why bother when it probably won't last anyway.

This is my baby sister I am talking about she should be 18 in about six months. So 1993. Don't worry this is just a guy she has a crush on,she wants to date him after she's of legal age.

I agree. Why bother buying her a car when you know it won't last. Just enjoy it while you can ( from a male perspective). If she won't date without the car buying, forget it.
Too much for what? a relationship? most likely yes.
Sex? not if they both enjoy it...
