We have two cats. A big 25 pound male, black in color, that we bought from a shelter 5 years ago. And a year ago last February a small female, black in color, was abandoned near our home. I found her outside one very cold morning, skin and bones and wobbley in the back legs. I took her to the vet to be checked out and fell in love with her while trying to find her owner. Both of these cats are a treasure, they both come when called, and mind very well. Of course, they arn't at all spoiled.
That was so nice of you to do! I'm sure they are not spoiled at all.
I am a cat lover and mother of 2 very macho, straight young men in their 20's who also love cats. They (and I) get really pissed off when they hear this stereotype (one son almost quit watching his favorite show Seinfeld because George mused negatively, shaking his head: "...guys who like cats..."). The other son has several cats and also a Siberian Husky, who oddly enough THINKS he's a cat. I raised my sons and daughters to love and respect all living things, including cats. There is absolutely nothing wrong with a straight guy liking cats!

I blame Walt Disney and other cartoonists. If you pay attention to them you'll see that most cats in their work primarily casts cats as feminine and most dogs as masculine.

How does that saying go? Women and cats will do as they please, men and dogs should get used to it...or something like that. LOL
There is nothing wrong with liking cats. While I am not a cat person, I am an animal person and last time I checked, cats are animals.
I'm don't do pets, but if I had to choose between a dog or cat, I'd choose a cat--for purely practical reasons. They're low maintenance, they don't bark at everything that walks by your window, and they're not super needy. They're just the thing for a busy guy.
