I am 5'5 1/2. I know my height has kept me from getting many women. I am one year shy of a PhD, own property, a nice car, am assertive, and have accomplished a lot. However, society looks down on short men. No matter how much a short man has, the 6 ft bus driver, or 6'3 ice cream man will always do better with the ladies, than the 5'3 guy who is a cardiologist. Many women, even the shortest ones all have 6 foot requirements and will come up with every excuse in the book why a short man is not a real man.

I then came across this:
YouTube - Dr Paley: Cosmetic Limb Lengthening Surgery

I am now considering limb lengthening to go to at least 5'9. The $70,000 cost seems to paltry compared the benefits which may ensue.

OK, I'm guilty of stating such preference one too many times myself. But please, please, don't do something as extreme as this! This is a MAJOR surgery! I'm not even sure how you can possibly get that much taller (didn't watch the video). Don't mess up with your body and your health! There are women with all sorts of preferences, including tall ones not minding shorter guys.

I saw a documentary on it being done in Asia. A lot of failures. I can't believe as a cardiologist you're even considering this.

Yeah, a lot of women like taller men, it's true. But tons of short men get married, girlfriends and sex.

You would rather have a 70K surgery that may maim you for life, than have a harder than average time finding women?

Is it really worth a few extra inches???

My preference is a decent guy who will treat me well. Height is not that important. Of course, few of the men here will ever believe that.

Exactly! I wouldn't do it if I don't see another man in my life!
