But if not a single person is saying hello to your online dating profile, then you should probably completely revise it (or just say to hell with online dating in general).

hard to say but depends how long you have been a member and maybe the pic is just not a flattering one. maybe try talking to them i really think its better to try to talk to woman of the internet for all you know they could be creepy hairy men in front of a keyboard

Be sure your photo(s) are good. Ask a trusted friend for the honest truth.
Be sure the text of your profile has no list of "demands" - you want your likes/dislikes known - but don't list a set of demands.
Be sure the profile is positive, upbeat and HAPPY! Too many times I have read profiles that are laced with resentment. i.e. "I want a woman who won't talk all the time, who won't give me crap, etc." (Yikes! Sounds not too friendly) Remember you are trying to "sell yourself" so sell. Be sure to mention all the things that make you wonderful.
When crafting your profile - read the profiles of other men. Yes, check the competition! Read many - you will read some that sound good, open and inviting and others that are ... bad. It will give you some insight as to what you are up against.
Next - Send some emails. Forget the winks and such. Read some profiles and send some emails to the ladies. Make it personal. NO mass emails. Be sure your email mentions something that you find interesting in her profile and pose a question. i.e. "Your profile mentioned you like swimming. I love swimming. Do you go swimming often?" Then, keep the conversation going. Respond ASAP!!

If you have some female friends or family members, have them review your profile so you can find out from the woman's perspective if there is anything you need to revise in the ad. |
