I figured this would be the best forum to ask with as many people that are here that have experience on this, so here goes nothing:

I'm 16 years old, and haven't been interested in dating thus far in my life. I want to get my career going(plan on going in to law enforcement) before I go in to a relationship. I'm just curious if anyone here did this when they were younger/are doing it now, etc.

I also want to know if you guys think it's a bad or good thing, or if it really doesn't matter. Any pros/cons to doing it/not doing it?

Thanks for the help in advance.

Nothing wrong with it. Speaking with my fiancee who's now 26, she never thought about dating till 22 when she got out of college. For her it just never crossed her mind to want it and she was completely focused on her education and career.

Dating just means more complications. Don't totally isolate yourself and be friendless though. I never wanted to date "All the way" or seriously in highschool because I though getting preggers in HS would be the hardest thing to deal with. And after HS I knew I wanted to travel and do something different. So I did. I did not want to be one of those people who just had a baby etc and then said "iwish" twenty years down the line.

I would say the only con if you did not date at all would be just all the stupid social awkwardness you get when you learn to date. If you stay around a lot of people and are always meeting new people it should not be bad though.

Take care of your education and career.

You are too young to be bothering with pathetic stuff.

My sons were not interested in dating at 16. They had all kinds of interests in other things that were more important at the time, like sports and computers. But a few years later, things began to change.

Don't worry about it. Enjoy what you are doing now. There is plenty of time for dating.

I wonder why you asked.
Does this mean, in your circle of friends, those who are 16, are all dating ?

Nothing wrong with the principle you have.
Used to be the norm umpteen years ago ....

Today ....
Oh well.....

Kudos to you for setting high standards !!!

Each individual is different
My sons who are 17 and 15 have different dating styles
My 15 year old has a girlfriend and he is always with her, He said she is his best friend
My 17 year old likes to be at home with me or be at his sisters house.
I think its good you know what you want and going after it, Just remember to have some fun too
Good luck to you

I was never into dating until my freshmen-sophomore year in college, haha. Had a glimpse of what dating is but eh... Now I am thankful that I am not dating because it is such a hassle! Enjoy your freedom D:
