What do you think of celphones/mobiles during a date?
I remember a while back went out with this girl and it was all fine until she started using her phone/mobile. I would be fine if it was a short call where she would tell her friend that she would call next day or later on that night but the call went on and on talking about what they did in the mall, friend gossip, laughing, etc. It irritated me. I let it go and tried to shake it off and continued or thing. She got another call and same thing. I told her I felt bad how she was dating me and her phone at the same time and made it clear how I had no problem if it was an emergency or something important. She apologized and as we were having dinner told me she just wanted to send a quick text. I just nodded, already annoyed. Took her home after that and didn't feel like going out with her again. She looked for me after that night and asked when we would do something again. I lost interest.
If I get a phone call, I send it straight to voicemail. If I continue getting phone calls then I'll think its an emergency and see who it is. If I really have to answer, I'll keep it straight to the point and tell them I will call back when I am available.
How do you deal with your celphone/mobile or your significan other?
I concur with you, if she repeatedly gets phone calls and taking them but they aren't emergencies, then it's 1 and out for me. Same with texts, it's just rude. People need to know better.

I almost posted this exact same subject... it's rude and immature..
If it ever happens in the future with someone else, just grab your own cell, and call her while sitting at the table with her. Maybe then she'll get the point.

I think it's impolite and wouldn't have mine on. How did people get by for an hour or two prior to cells? If there were a dire emergency someone could page you where you are on your date. Just leave word where that will be.
I pretty much ignore my phone when I'm on a date. If a guy chose to take a call and carry on a conversation when he should be paying attention to me, he's done!
Unless the guy has a profession requiring him to be on call and the call is of this nature, out he goes.
