Since it was a hypothetical situation it is a bit hard to know how I would feel about it. Was the food any good? Though on the basis explained I might want to ask the gal her motivations for not telling me earlier (previous dates) about the child. I guess I could accept a reasonable statement about her motives. She has showed she is interested enough in me to make an effort to please. That is a plus.
Now as to whether I am interested in carrying it further? I can not say for like another poster mentioned, the subject would have come up during the earlier dates. I would have asked if she had any children.

I'll never forget this moron I met once... He was at home and I offered him a drink and some appetizers to go with it, and he was SHOCKED! Pretty much told me what I'm jokingly saying here. I'd "tap it" just one more time for old times sake and never speak to her again. Of course, in real life it would never happen to me, but that to me, just speaks volumes of her lack of character in not mentioning her child. Hit it and quit it is exactly what I'd do.

Thats what I would think. Ususally by the 3-4th date you have asked/been asked the typical questions, ever been married?, kids?, job, education, etc.
She has probably been shown men don't like to date women
with kids, and she wants to see your reaction in a controlled
environment. It also means she's interested in you.
When you have children, you don't want them getting attached
to a new person and then get hurt when they leave. Kids take
everything personal.
Her first priority is her child, as it should be, if ya'll fail she still
has the kid.
