Owning a home is great but it is also stressful.
First, yall need to make a list of the things that need to be addressed and put a time frame on them according to price and importance.
Second - if you have to save money buy a disco light ball and put on an old cd of your favorite jams and dance in the den or where-ever. Really rock it out so both you and him can relieve some stress. Make dinner together, something light and easy where you can be around and talk to each other. After that then pop in your rental of "The Money Pit" 80's movies with Shelly Long.
OR
Make arrangements to go to school where they perform discount massage and do a couples massage together to relieve stress. I think it's very inexpensive or all you have to do is tip the students.
*also with any repairs, network with other people you trust. If you so happen to hear a co-worker or person talk about what a great job some company did and the price they charge- often a referral beats regular pricing on any jobs.
Good luck! Hang in there!

We had the same problem in our current rental. The smell was so bad it was hard to take a shower but the owner assured us the more the water gets used, the smell does go away and it did.
Hmmmm. We're not on well water, that I know for sure. The house was never unoccupied. It's really coming from the sink when I turn on the water, but maybe the toilet too. Hopefully a plumber can figure it out.

Some great advice here.

I feel your pain. We are under renovation. Constand noise and dust. No kitchen. A million little decisions to make every day. And of course, we are over budget.

You need to make some time for fun.

Rent "The Money Pit" and crack open a bottle of wine.

Plan a picnic.

Get away from the house once in awhile--even though you feel like you neeeeed to be doing chores and tasks.

Tonight we will go go mtbing together and go out for Mexican food. Yes even though we ~should~ be sanding and priming window sills and even though eating out costs $$$.

The house will always be there. It's our job to make sure the relationship survives as well.

Good luck and best wishes.

I empathize. I'm about to buy a new house and move to a new town, and I feel positively sick to my stomach and have felt that way for days.
