Get Lance Armstrong, Johnny Depp, and Joe Jonas up on there.
None are particularly tall. Depp and Jonas are 5'10", and Armstrong is 5'8". Depp is dark and handsome, absolutely. I know Joe Jonas is in his 20s, but I can't think of him as handsome. He looks like he's in high school.

No kidding. Handsome? The kid looks like he's just started shaving. He may be cute, in a teeny-bopper sort of way, but he ain't handsome.
He's one of those Hollywood guys who are at least 1.5 inch down their billed height. Most Hollywood guys are shorter, except the obvious ones like Vince Vaughn.
I thought the "dark" was for hair color but then remember how it brought in the cultural aspect of say, an Italian or Latino, but mysterious looking could include other countries as well? The 007 Sean Connery in his youth was believed to fit that role of "tall, dark and handsome" for many young ladies.
Someone like Taylor Lautner, maybe? {although I don't have height statistics here but he looks rather tall on 'Twilight'}.
Forgot to add Adrian Paul {"Highlander"} to the list

I think a young Sean Connery and Pierce Bronsan as 007 epitomize T, D, & H... I keep thinking the term originated in British Lit. and referred to the taller, dark-haired Irish men like these guys...
