I'm most attracted to 5 years younger than myself. However, i met this girl i thought was cute. It turned out she went to school with my brothers wife and was a whopping 6 years older than myself. i was shocked that i became interested in someone who was 36 years old. I've also clicked best with the ones in their mid 20's.

not the case of my current partner (he's 4 years my senior), but I was with a guy who was 5 years my junior before and would gladly be with someone even younger if I were single, and several of my girl friends are (or have been at some point) with younger guys (two of them stand out, the male being 10 and 12 years younger respectively -both of the guys were 17 or barely 18 when they first met my friends-). Plus, my mother has been with a guy who is 10 years younger than her the last couple of decades.

What's so weird? Some younger men (or some boys) miss experience and self-confidence in females their age, and some older women miss physical beauty, energy and enthusiasm in males their age. It's the same with the "older man - younger woman" combination.

My husband is four years younger than I am. No, it doesn't cause any "problems". We remember the same music, all the same movies, even the same silly/corny expressions (I tossed "tubular!" at him not long ago and he cracked up), our bodies are falling apart at approximately the same rate, we're looking at the same approximate timeframe for retirement...Where would the problems come in?

If it were two years...I'm not sure I'd post about it to find out who shared my concerns. (???) Tell me, if you were 52 and she was the 50-year-old, would you consider yourself the older man and wonder who else might be experiencing a challenging relationship such as yours?

Look at it this way: you can get a "seniors' discount" two years sooner (& make her pay the bill, of course - she's older, after all).

First husband was two years younger than me. Second husband was four years younger. Last guy I dated was four years younger. ALL of them looked much older than me. It wasn't such a big deal with my first husband. But the rest ... it was a bit of a challenge. Even the S.O. who was 11 years younger than me looked much older than me.

It's a bummer because all of the guys my age look their age, and I don't. I know that this probably sounds vain and capricious, but oh, what I wouldn't give to meet a guy who scored the "fountain of youth" gene.
