I've noticed in the last 5 or so years......most of the guys that I've met do not like sports. It's weird for me because growing up all of my friends and their familes were sports families and were involved in sports in once capacity or another.
Baseball is a fun sport to watch!
Baseball???? OMG. *yawn* It isn't even that fun to watch from the bleachers. And I've watched a lot of games! I'm just not that into it, obviously.
Ummm....I should add...Winter Olympics are excluded from this!! We love watching those. And the football playoffs, depending on the teams, sometimes I can get pretty caught up in, moreso than my BF. It really comes down to time...we just do more stuff outside than in.
Actually, I don't think I have ever watched Lifetime, but the stereotype of shows that they play is enough for me. It's likely that one of my favorite columns has a lot to do with that, though.
This is a little long, but it cracks me up. I am cackling like a crazy person right now. It's about a Lifetime movie starring Jennifer Love Hewitt.
After my wife and I dated a few weeks, I took her to a baseball game. She went along to humor me. So we get to our seats and I pull out the program and start keeping score.
She says, "Why are you doing that?"
"So I can keep track of the game."
"Isn't that what the scoreboard's for?"
So I explained that it really allowed you to keep track of the game's subtle rhythms, etc. etc. She called me a geek.
About the third inning, I needed to visit the concession stand. So I asked her to keep score for me while I was gone, showing her how to do it. While there, I saw an old friend and spent fifteen minutes catching up. By the time I returned, it was the end of the fourth inning.
I returned to our seats, and thanked for her keeping score.
"So, can I have the program back?"
"No. I like doing this." And she kept score for the rest of the game.
Now she likes baseball as much as I do. And whenever we visit a major league city, she makes sure to include a game as part of our plans. Hopefully we'll visit every major league park before we kick.
