The Internet is really a bizarre thing, it is really like a double edged sword.
You've got so much info right at your finger tips.... just google anything, and you'll find some info about it, maybe not always a 100% accurate but still, info.
Then you got silly nonsense like twitter.. Or the douche bag woman doing the bone dance with a bunch of guys and doing up power point presentations, then having it spread everywhere. That story a couple of yrs ago where a girls mom was harassing one of her daughters "friends" the girl ended up killing herself.
Shame, really.
I've felt this way a long time about not only the internet, but all technology in general. I think there are quite a few people here that spend their time posting anonymously among people they will never meet as a substitute for getting out and interacting with real people. Heck, even I've been guilty of that. If it hasn't already become a major sociological issue, I think it certainly will be going ahead. I don't think its healthy.
Another thing that gets to me is walking around campus and people so self absorbed in their text messaging, they don't even notice anything going on around them.

I've been banging this drum for a few yrs now. I've started a few threads about it.
I'm quite a bit older than you, if your are still in college. I work and train a lot of the newer guys in my company. The level of disconnect that a lot of them seem to have is astonishing. They can't get their f ing faces out of their cell phones. They are just over the top with the texting and checking emails. People just need to unplug a little and be in the moment.
My brother is in Plantation - in that little triangle between the golf course, and S. University and Peters. I love visiting him - I just hate driving to his house - that traffic is awful!
I know his area well. Yes, the drivers here are insane!!! I live in a town near by, Weston.
