How would you feel if your significant other "helped themselves" or "Took care of themselves" (if you know what I mean)?
I've never had this happen so I can't say for sure, but I don't think I would mind as long as it wasn't happening all the time, he wasn't secretive about it, and he allowed me to watch if I wanted to.
I got annoyed at my ex doing it, one time. We were on vacation with the family, and the walls in the bathroom in our room were thin. We were both taking a nap after a bike ride, then he got up to go into the bathroom. I heard him open the flip top lid of my conditioner to do it. I had to tell him through the door that that was expensive stuff, and not what it what it was intended for!

Well hell yeah.. I would have spoke up about that too.."don`t think so"
Tell him to use an empty toilet paper roll, stuffed with toilet paper, or a soapy wash cloth, but to leave the Paul Mitchel be...

Creative!
I'll let his current fiancee "handle" the issue. He's her problem, now. Although, I do wish I could go back in time to throw a few "Getting off with Paul" jokes at him.

Funny...maybe he uses the kind that tingles now.
