I can't believe some people are shouting "you go girl" about a woman who has a series of drunken non-orgasmic hookups. If she were sober I could at least say "to each her own" but being drunk makes her seem like a sad-sack with low self esteem. Sex isn't fun after slamming down beers all night.

Now, I love my female friends to death, but I also love men because, as cheesy as it sounds, their masculinity does complete my femininity. If I wanted to spend my life being close with only women, I'd become a lesbian.

The main thing I notice about that blog was a very harsh, aggressive, almost angry and hurt tone.

If you read the blogs by most male "pick-up artists" you'll find the same thing. Many of them clearly have a backdrop of simple hating humanity and having no trust of women.

Many years ago in Japan I lived with a woman who used to have "the girls" over during breaks, our apartment serving as the launching point for Girls' Night Out. They'd gather in the living room and chatter and giggle, and talk. Once upon a time I tried an experiment with these gals. As I brought in a tray of snacks I've been baking for them, I said out loud "Wow, you know -- women are just a bunch of liars!"

OH, the humanity! I was regaled and shrieked at about how MEN are the liars of the world and poor, beset, emotionally beseiged women are the victims in this life! I eventually fled the room.

Two or three weeks later (rotating shiftwork tends to blur time) they were once again at our place preparing to launch and quite sufficiently refreshed by beverage when I entered the room and said "You know, women really can't lie for S#!+..."

OH, the indignation, the declarations of "WHAT?!? You men are just STUPID! We lie to you all all the time, we get away with things you can't even imagine! Now MEN can't lie; we see right thru that stuff YOU all try to pull, but you're none the wiser when WE want something!" Punctuate with high-fives and you GO girl exclamations.

I asked how it was possible to get so good at lying without a lot of practice but the tone got ugly quickly and I just went and grabbed them a couple more bottles of chardonnay and left the premises long enough to let them get on with their business.

Just my thought for the turn things took, aside from the real keeping of this thread, which is:


There are and will always be women you JUST f*** and women you marry, and that line is called self respect. It has nothing to do with sex and everything to do with conduct.

Difference is, a man can ***** up his 20s and 30s, then turn 40 and decide to find a serious mate. He can easily do this with few ill effects to his personal life so long as he has kept himself disease free and has a decent job. A woman on the other hand will find herself depressingly trawling through the used-goods market, and will find her value to other seriously diminished.

I kind of think you're wrong I don't really think society is all that much more amoral today - some are but the reason the Paris Hiltons can still make a career out of their promiscuity is because that level of promiscuity is not that common.

It will become more common place as the imitators fall into line. But ultimately that's a pretty empty lifestyle - just like we're seeing with the pop star bimbos it requires a lot of drugs and booze to keep pretending it's great fun and worthwhile doing hookups with just about everyone.

Most people really don't want to exist drugged and in some hypersexual state all the time, and most women just aren't going to want to have blackout sex where they imagine it was great because they see the guy bruised them quite badly while they were passed out.

Most parents aren't going to send their daughters off to college so they can party and drink and be gang humped the entire time - I don't know how the Owens are taking it - maybe they don't mind at all because maybe they figure she's going to get some book and porno deals out of it and be a 15 minute success but a lot of parents would be rather humiliated. I really doubt that would change.

Her parents must be humiliated. I would be if my daughter, or son, did anything like this.
I hope she realizes that she has eliminated herself from most future employment after having done this.

You'd have to look at the people who are talking about both. I haven't seen a thread on this forum about the Rutgers kid, so I don't think anyone can say, "Hey, why are you saying X about this but Y about that?" I think I'd have the same response regardless of the gender.

Well, I take that back. I think if this story was about a guy who passed around a PowerPoint presentation of his exploits, I'd be more pithy and just say, "Ugh, what a pig." Probably about that brief, although I might get into it downthread with people debating whether our responses would be different if he were a girl. I did go into more detail in response to a female perp (for lack of a better word) than I would with a male one.

No - the feminists high-fiving this floozy are doing that. All the "you go girls" aren't because Ms. Owen studied or excelled in sports herself, she blowed the whole team, she had sex with many jocks and brags about it - that's what is getting her the high marks from the feminists.

Notice she's also not getting the high-fives for getting laid by average guys - it's the status of the guys that matters.
