I was wondering what you thought about a quick, clothes-on chair massage for a first date (like 15-30 minutes). There are a number of places apparently where you can do this. (I'm not talking about massaging each other,
The reason I ask, is because a full massage is just way too over the top and a bit weird and too much. I certainly wouldn't suggest that.
But what about a brief, no frills, no oils or any of that stuff, no undressing type of massage appointment for a first date. Where you would still be talking, getting to know each other.
Coffee dates, are so blah and cliche, and most other date ideas, (zoo or museum) are things that you take your niece or nephew to and I think are too passive to spark any chemistry. For me personally, these often don't go anywhere.
But I think something like a very simple, quick massage, in same room, being able to talk to each other, clothes on, is actually something doable as a first date.
I probably wouldn't be interested. I don't see a lot of interaction happening while each of you has your face down staring at a masseur's feet. Also, each time I get a massage I end up with ruined make up and wild hair. Not my idea of first-date-friendly.
How about dinner theater/piano bar? Picnic in the park? Sporting event? Those venues allow couples to still chat while getting to know each other's interests for foods, drinks, sport teams, music, etc. They allow room for outside distractions but still ample opportunities for talk time.

No. Not for me. But I had a very bad experience with a creepy married pervy supervisor who gave me a "friendly over the clothes shoulder massage" in his office so that kinda scarred me (where is the nausea face icon?)
Besides that, it still seems a bit too personal and touch feeling for date #1.
Given that I positively moan and drool with pleasure over even a simple shoulder and neck massage I'd find it awfully embarrassing so the answer would be no.
creepy. What happened to just drinking coffee and getting to know each other? That is too passe? Okay, how about let's go find a mechanical bull on the first date, and ride it together...Or go get tattoos? Or how about checking out strip clubs?

Thanks for the answers everyone.
To be fully honest, I certainly find nothing wrong with a coffee date. But, if that doesn't seem to really create chemistry, than its perfectly logical to want to think outside the box, and thinking of something a bit more daring and different.
Yeah, too weird - for all the reasons already mentioned. And I LOVE massage.
