In a perfect world made of marshmallows and rainbows I suppose you could apply your concept, whatever that is, but if you think no one owns the earth's resources, go ahead and try pitching a tent on the coast of Carmel California, the Hampton's, or Cape Cod and calling it home, let me know how that goes.

So you want to live like a robot, get your equal ration of food & money regardless of your effort, so that you too have an equal chance at love? My presumption is that you're broke, single and still looking, am I right?

Incorrect. Resources are owned. Perhaps you wish the ownership was yours or under your direction (governance). I know that I would love to own a gold mine. Though I prefer a few producing oil wells.
As to materialism and relationships. This has a tenuous link to capitalism in that a materialistic society is often capitalistic. But than again, a socialistic society can have materialistic people as well. What you may want is a deeply religious society where materialism is a sin.
